The Ashland Library Gamenight held downstairs in the Gresham Room started in early 2009 and has been going strong ever since. It almost always occurs on the 3rd Saturday of the month year round. However this August it has been moved to the 1st Saturday (August 7th).
Upcoming Game Night dates:
Saturday, June 19th
Saturday, July 17th
Saturday, August 7th (not Aug. 21st)
The majority of the gamers are adults (and late teens). Families are encouraged to join us, and many do. However if small children are brought there needs to be a responsible adult watching over them (and hopefully playing with them) as there are no "lifeguards on duty".
There are approximately 200 games that encompass anything you can think of from young children's games to hours-long epic battle games. Some of the more popular games as of late have been: Ticket To Ride, Blokus, Pandemic, Finca, Stone Age, For Sale, Apples to Apples, Dixit, Jungle Speed, and Crokinole.
A flier can be found at the Ashland Library and at Funagain Games. This is not an "official" library activity as it occurs after hours (as opposed to the Afternoon Boardgame Club, which is).
