Conservatory for Young Theatre Artists, ages 7 – 17
Teachers: Livia Genise, Laura Derocher, Audrey Flint, and Karl Iverson with the Camelot Theatre in Talent, Oregon
This exciting camp is designed to introduce the young artist to improvisation, basic vocal and acting techniques, dance, and Shakespeare. Working with professional artists, you will combine classes with rehearsals for a performance of select material guaranteed to move you forward as a developing artist.

Improv: Who’s Line? Your Line!, ages 12 - 17

Come learn the art of improvisation. Using theatre games, you will explore core improvisation techniques including character development, spontaneity, verbal and non-verbal communication, narrative tools and group interaction skills to create scenes on stage instantly.

Much Ado About Shakespeare, ages 8 – 12
Teacher: Annette Lewis
Bring the written word to life through the works of the world’s greatest playwright, William Shakespeare. You will participate in theatre games, improvisation and acting exercises. Explore the history of Shakespeare’s life and tour the facilities of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF).The final class will be held at OSF where you will create a brass rubbing, view the First Folio, and act out lines from Hamlet, Henry IV, pt. 1, Merchant of Venice, and 12th Night.

Theatrical Combat, ages 14 - 18

Get ready to choreograph your own safe and realistic fight for the state! Explore the fundamental techniques of unarmed and armed fight direction and stage combat in this class. Learn how the pros create the illusion of theatrical violence as you learn how to do slaps, punches and hairpulls in a safe way.

Theater Magic, ages 7 – 10

Come explore the magical, spooky world of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream! We’ll create our own costumes, props, and special effects: masks, fairy wings, fake blood, musical instruments, and more! We’ll play games using our whole bodies and voices to learn about Shakespeare’s words. At the end of the week, we’ll act out this magnificent story on the ScienceWorks stage!

Sing It, Say It, Dance It is a musical theater summer camp for young performers. The children will write and perform their own show along a chosen theme that we pick based on
musical selections that they will both sing and dance to.
