Violin/Viola Teachers

Fee: $26/half-hour

Duane teaches a combination of classical and fiddle. His goal with his students is to get them to be able to play in a variety of situations, whether it is at a jam session or a school recital. He teaches them ear training and technique while playing music they can relate to. Each time the student finishes a song a video is made and posted to his web site where the students can view it anytime.

Faina Podolnaya

Violin and Viola

Fee: $35/half hour

Director of Siskiyou Violins and Associate Director of Southern Oregon Youth Symphony, Faina teaches private violin and viola lessons at her home. After students gain the appropriate foundation for violin or viola, they can choose a specific style of music such as fiddle, klezmer or classical. She teaches all ages and levels.
