Storytime at the library is best suited for children ages 3 - 5. Be sure to stay with your child in case your child needs assistance or has some questions about the story.

Babies in the Library

Jackson County Library offers storytime programs for younger children as well. The Babies in the Library program is for pre-walking babies (approx. 0-12 months) accompanied by a caring adult. Siblings are welcome, as are moms, dads, grandparents, caregivers, etc.

Each session of Babies in the Library will focus on a different early literacy skill such as rhyming, repetition, reading aloud, and oral language. All of these skills are taught within a thirty-minute storytime of songs, bounces, and reading, followed by a half-hour of play and chat time. Duplicate copies of the books read during storytime will be available so each participant may check out storytime books to read with their baby at home.

Wobblers in the Library

Wobblers, the next step after Babies in the Library, will be held in Ashland on Tuesdays and Medford on Wednesdays. Wobblers is for children who are not quite ready to sit through the preschool storytime ( approx. 12 - 36 months).
